Middleton is just south of us, towards Manchester. It is one of the busiest patches we cover, with lots of commercial premises and plenty of home work too.
We work across the town centre, Alkrington, Rhodes and Langley. We take on shop and office fit-outs, inspections for landlords and full rewires for homeowners. Whatever the job, you get a well planned, fully certified installation from a contractor used to busy buildings.
We are based in Shawclough, on the north side of Rochdale. Middleton is a regular run south for us. We have no office in Middleton, so we come to you.
Red-brick terraces and a 1950s overspill estate
Middleton was a silk town before it turned to cotton spinning in the 1800s. Lodge Mill, built in 1839, is said to be its oldest surviving mill. Warwick Mill followed in 1907. Much of the town's housing is red-brick terraces from the 1800s.
Langley came next. Manchester City Council built it in the 1950s for families moving out of the city's slums. It was planned for about 25,000 people. Hollin and Boarshaw also grew in the mid-1900s. Most homes there began as council houses.
Alkrington is different again. Part of the old Alkrington Hall parkland is now private housing. The rest is Alkrington Wood nature reserve. Middleton Town Centre has been a conservation area since 1978.
So the work here changes from street to street. A Victorian terrace may have had its wiring added more than once. A 1950s home has wiring that is now around 70 years old. It was never meant to run today's kitchens, chargers and screens.
What we get called out for in Middleton
Commercial work at Stakehill
Stakehill Industrial Estate is one of the borough's main sites by the M62. We install power, lighting and distribution boards for units there, then test and certify them.
Rewires in Langley and Hollin
Many ex-council homes still have older wiring. We test first and rewire only what needs it.
Inspections for landlords
Every private let needs an EICR at least every five years. We test single homes and whole portfolios and explain each fault in plain English.
Fit-outs in the town centre
We fit out shops and offices around Middleton town centre. Where we can, we plan the work so you can keep trading.

What we do in Middleton
Electrician in Middleton, questions answered
Do I need a licence to rent out a shared house in Middleton?
If three or more unrelated people share it, you will most likely need one. Rochdale Borough Council runs this across the whole borough, so check with them. Every private let also needs an EICR at least every five years.
Can you work on a commercial unit at Stakehill?
Yes. We handle new installs, fit-outs, testing and repairs for units on the estate. We plan around your working hours where we can.
How much does a rewire cost in Middleton?
It depends on the size of the home, the number of circuits and how easy it is to lift floors. A small terrace is a smaller job than a big semi. We survey first, then give you a fixed price in writing.
Ready for electrics done properly?
Free fixed quotes across Rochdale and Greater Manchester. Certified work, an immaculate finish and a price that doesn't move.
