Yes. If you let a home in England, the law requires the electrical installation to be inspected and tested by a qualified person at least every five years, and you must give your tenant a copy of the report. That report is an Electrical Installation Condition Report, or EICR: a full health check of the wiring, board, circuits and protection, with each item coded so you can see clearly what is satisfactory and what needs attention. It has to show the installation is safe, so any items coded C1 or C2 must be put right and confirmed. It covers most standard rented tenancies.
We carry out landlord EICRs across Rochdale, Heywood, Middleton and the wider patch, for single lets and full portfolios alike. Every report is clearly coded and explained in plain English, with a fair fixed price to make safe anything that fails, so there are no surprises. As an NICEIC Approved Contractor we test to the current regulations, and we can set you up on a schedule so an inspection never lapses and you always stay on the right side of your legal duty.

Your questions, answered
What happens if the EICR fails?
A fail simply means some items are coded C1 or C2 and need attention. We explain each one and give a clear fixed price to make safe and bring the installation up to standard, then confirm it's satisfactory.
How often does a rented home need an EICR?
At least every five years for most tenancies, and it's good practice to test at each change of tenancy too. We can put you on a schedule so nothing ever lapses.
Can you handle several properties at once?
Yes. We look after single lets and full portfolios across the Rochdale area, and can schedule inspections so all your properties stay compliant without you having to chase each renewal.
Ready for electrics done properly?
